Determination of Antibody to Serum Tropomysin (hTM5) in Ulcerative Colitis patients using ELISA method. A laboratory research with Kiron M. Das, MD, PhD; Chief, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, UMDNJ-RWJMS. BacT/Alert Aerobic FAN, BacT/Alert Anaerobic Standard, and BacT/Alert Anaerobic FAN Blood Culture Study. An ongoing Quality Assurance study evaluating which anaerobic blood culture bottle is the better bottle to combine with the aerobic FAN bottle in order to maximize the yield and speed of detection of positive blood cultures. This is being undertaken by the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Microbiology Laboratory in collaboration with Duke University Medical Center. BacT/Alert FAN System VS Bactec Aerobic Resin/Anaerobic Lytic System Blood Culture Study. Another ongoing study to demonstrate that the performance of the BacT/Alert FA and FN combination is equivalent to the Bactec aerobic resin and anaerobic lytic bottle combination for recovery and speed of detection of microorganisms in suspected cases of septicemia and fungemia. In this evaluation a single sample of blood collected for culture will be inoculated into all four media to determine which system provides the better detection of bacteremia and fungemia. The Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Microbiology Laboratory in collaboration with Duke University Medical Center is undertaking this. |
